Week 3 Lecture Comments
With the lecture what caught my attention was the ideas of the Dream Cities by Wade Graham that explained cities relationships between us and them. His statement of "Cities can also be read as battle groups where different architectures come,each with an agenda, and economic and political consequences." He does make it seem like these buildings are in a constant war with other architectural structures. Making them seem human in a way giving them a cultural substance to hang on to and I feel this is what it takes to create great architecture. Taking a good sense and culture standpoint on a building gives it life and a sense of belonging in a city. It has to have this sort of war like mentality in order to thrive in its own establishment.Seeing it this way puts a different perspective in a way for me to build my own city. No part of my city should seem less than the other rather then all of them going to battle to stand out. Creating these buildings needs to have a sense of life even if my focus isn't on them leading on to the first person game of the project,
